Hello! Another day, another blog. It is incredibly sunny in Surrey right now and coupled with the song that I am listening to; I have no doubt that this day is going to be a blast. Like, Tom Misch bro. You're never going to read this but I just wanted to let you know that your music is just on some other level when it comes to making someone groove and dance. HEAD BOPPING GALORE BRO.
To get this out of the way, I am an introvert. I do consider myself a leader but not the one that delivers the inspiring speeches that gets everyone hyped up before entering a high-pressure situation with extreme expectations. I tend to offer words of kindness and encouragement in order to connect with those around me, hoping to inspire them by performing simple acts. But when it comes to being the first one to do something, like lead a club or an assignment, I shy away and retreat into my own comfort. Part of this is because of my fear of failure and also just because it is not the person I am.
One particular song that stands out to me is the piece, "Follow".
Take the first step, and the rest will follow.
Tom, Tom, Tom. You are absolutely correct. This main message along with the classic funky, jazz vibe that you never fail to deliver makes for a song that gets you moving but also thinking! It's fascinating how much we can miss out on a song when we don't take time to analyze the lyrics and try our best to connect it with things in our own lives.

However, as of recently I am trying my best to take more calculated risks and tackle opportunities regardless of how they may turn out. I will probably fail and feel discouraged but truth be told, I would rather live and learn from my disappointment than live with regret. You might disagree with me but I think that this is my way of growing simply because the uncertainty is terrifying.
Sometimes the things we fear the most are the things that we must do in order to grow.
Sure it'll hurt,
we'll have to sacrifice,
our hearts may get broken,
dreams diminished,
but that's all part of the story!
Don't let anyone take the spotlight away from you. Don't allow anyone else to be the main character of your epic film. If this was Harry Potter, you are not Ron, you are not Hermione, you are not Dumbledore, you are Harry! Own it. Even if you don't know how to do magic.
Wanna hear something funny and super cliché?
You are the magic.
Now all you have to do is take the first step,
and the rest will follow.
